About Author Paula Wagner

On this about page, meet Paula Wagner, a published Bay Area writer whose stories span the globe. Part travelog, part self-exploration, her first book, Newcomers in an Ancient Land recounts her coming of age adventures in Israel in the 1960s.

Its upcoming sequel takes place in France – with side trips to Algeria, Europe, the Balkans, and back to England where she and her twin sister were born.

Though very different, both books are animated by her love of language, her longing for home, and a quest for identity.

Paula also writes poetry. She has contributed to an anthology, The Magic of Memoir, and in her previous incarnation as a professional career coach, has edited many a winning resumé.

Besides wordplay, she loves swimming, yoga, family, and cats.
